I post this from time to time

I post this from time to time because it means so much to me and is very Powerful! Thank you brother Randy Terry.
So many times I hear I want my life back, Said it myself, made myself miserable. Now 6 yrs post stroke I see I will never get the old life back its impossible. The trials of this stroke and recovery has changed my life forever and for the good..
I am a survivor and the things I have learned about life will not allow me to return to the old..Sure some of the things I loved doing are gone but I have adapted to change not easy but no choice.
For the first few years of this I played that pity thing mad at the world, why me. One day got up ,tired of this got to be a better life after stroke. Put the wheelchair in corner picked up walker and started this hard work. Soon I was on cane doing the same thing ,it is not easy by no means but guess what not only was I walking but I felt proud thats why you hear me say "Stand Tall And Proud.. "Its not a secret hid from you its what you want out of life. Do not waste your time in this place its very lonely and nothing there to gain but misery. I am no writer ,not smarted than you ,it takes time to heal ,just got to get that brain thinking right and get up and get it done. Time is on your side you got plenty of it so don't think its got to all come at once work slow and steady it will come.. rt.

REASON?

AARONS NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE

At what place of life or death this happened I do not know.

I found myself in the most full of peace tropical like place I had ever been before. Inner peace.

In the middle of this place was a mansion.

I suddenly found myself inside this mansion. It was filled with 1,000's of people wearing white gowns. It was odd because I had an uneasy feeling.

Then a white bearded old man came up to me and said "Here take this white gown it will be easier for you............ I refused!

Then it hit me!

The reason I felt uneasy was because I was the only one in this place in normal clothes!

The old man asked me several more times saying "Here take the white gown it will be easier for you" I refused again every time.

All I wanted is to see is my soul mate, my everything of 25 years Rebecca Avila.

And here I am today, given a second chance at life on this planet.

Living the most fullest life you can have on this planet. Helping stroke survivors around the world like non before me.

I have been given an unquenchable love for stroke survivors worldwide!

It's who I am now!

Stroke survivors are the most amazing people I have met on this planet!

Love,
Aaron

AS FAST AS LIGHTNING STRIKES BY AARON AVILA

As fast as lightning strikes the life I once knew ended and I was granted a second chance.

As fast as lightning strikes everything in my life I took for granted I took them for granted no more.

As fast as lightning strikes I learned what stroke was.

As fast as lightning strikes I learned what was the most important thing my life was. Love!

As fast as lightning strikes I could not walk.

As fast as lightning strikes I could not talk.

As fast as lightning strikes I could no longer use the left side of my body.

As fast as lightning strikes I lost my ability to balance.

As fast as lightning strikes I learned 100% there is a God.

As fast as lightning strikes life as I knew it ended and a new life began.

As fast as lightning strikes I became a stroke survivor.

Stroke kills most but I was given a Second Chance!

Not to recover what  I once had, but to rebuild my life better than before!

With love,
Aaron Avila

CAN A STROKE SURVIVOR LIVE AGAIN?

Just commented this on a post.......... Can a stroke survivor be given a second chance but never live?

As you imagine I talk to 100's of stroke survivors around the world. And have met many although given a second chance at life on this planet and filled with a gratefulness for the very breath they breath. They are filled with a darkness, bitterness and resentment like no other! Sometimes I can help them and breaks my heart! It's who I am in my second chance!‪#‎unitingtheworldthroughstrokesurvival‬

THE KEY TO TRUE HAPPINESS

Michael W Idell on Brain Injury Radio

Brain Injury Radio Network Presents Brain Injury Communication w/HostMichael W Idell and Guest Lisa Dryer on the Topic Transitioning with a Brain Injury on April 3, 2015 at 5:00-6:30pm Pacific Time (8:00pm-9:30pm Eastern Time). Please share!

Call in to speak with the host (424) 243-9540

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/braininjuryradio/2015/04/04/brain-injury-communication-whost-michael-idell--transitioning-w-lisa-dryer

Transitioning into the community after a brain injury has enough personal bouts of their own with physical and/or neurological impairments. Getting assistance is very difficult where we can go, who to talk to, and finding people who understand. Family and friends many times don't have the patience. Government offices don't have much to offer to people with cognitive disabilities. State brain injury centers have a limited amount of resources to offer or don't communicate well with many individuals.

Lisa Dryer and Michael Idell have both lived in different parts of the country since having their brain injuries. They have found a number of people in their support groups nationally who have had all of these problems and more. They advocate for change and would like to get the word out to medical professionals by survivors, caregivers and the public who are knowledgeable with the disabled community.

PLEASE HELP YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEING THAT SURVIVED A STROKE

ONE OF THE MAIN KEYS TO LIFE AFTER STROKE (MY OPINION)

What brought this up was my graphic "The day my life changed forever"

So I posted my graphic in several groups. Several stroke survivors commented "my life sucks now"

Than it clicked ..................

In my humble opinion we as stroke survivors to transition from stroke survivors to stroke thrivers (life after stroke) we must have one key life ingredient.

We must have a to the core of who we are a deep appreciation for still breathing air on this planet. A deep to the core thankfulness of still being able to be with loved ones.

Because however hard and cataclysmic stroke is, if we died we would never be able to hug a loved one.

Death would have not only taken our life on this planet forever but taken away the ability to receive and give the most powerful force on planet earth .............. LOVE!

Stroke in my opinion is the hardest cataclysmic life event a person can go through on planet earth but ....................... it could be worse! We could have died!

But we survived what kills most people on planet earth!

We were given a Second Chance at life on this planet.

So don't forget you survived and now we must learn to not just survive but thrive!

FOR WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE!
